Stay positive in the midst of your failures because your failures make you who you better. Isn’t it true that the best things in life take time? Stay patient because it will be worth it. Sometimes it takes a little longer for everything to fall into place, so don’t get discouraged if something doesn’t go your way right away. ![]() You may even be feeling as if you are being left in the dust while the world keeps turning and even feel scared of your future. Some days you may feel as if you are dragging yourself up a steep mountain, while on other days, you may feel like you are running downhill while you are trying to keep up. You cannot see very far ahead and you never know when your path will take a sharp turn. I know it can be tough, but reminding yourself of the future you’re going to give yourself can provide a surprising amount of motivation.Whether you're college bound, a college student taking your finals or a recent graduate ready for adulthood, you may be feeling like your path in life is foggy. When things are good, enjoy it, but when it’s not so good, remember what you’re working toward and how it’ll pay off in the long run. My last piece of advice is to remember that this is only a part of your life. and take breaks when you think you need to! So don’t keep yourself locked up in the library until 3 a.m. In fact, studies have shown that studying for too long can actually be bad for your health. Contrary to the belief of a few of my friends, you don’t have study for hours and hours on end. Secondly, remember it’s okay to have fun. Yes, you are your dad’s and my precious child, but mysteriously enough, you are even more precious to God. If you see something you think you might want to do, do it! This kind of advice really works for just life in general, but nowhere else will you find the abundance of opportunities that a college or university can provide, so take advantage of it! Remember that you are a third degree black belt don’t be afraid to call upon those days of training if you ever need to. Don’t let opportunities slip by while you lay on your bed staring at your phone. ![]() Join clubs, try new things and be adventurous. As you kick off another year of college life, I want you to remember a few things.
